Once you get past a 24 hour adventure race, you begin to experience the most adventurous part of our sport, the expedition(XPD) race. Two days, three, five , and even ten day events. More than racing, these are adventures that test the physical, mental and emotional strength of the individual and his/her team. Expedition races are not for everyone, but they can be achieved with the proper training, desire and the right team.
Until recently, expedition races required travel to other states and countries. But starting this year (2009), expedition racing in California is a reality with additional races planned for 2010. Learn more about these races. Maybe you will be inspired to try one or you can just volunteer at these events to get a taste of the expedition.
- Gold Rush – Mother Lode ( Oct. 4-8, 2009) - Four day expedition race near the town of Sonora, California.

- Desert Winds XPD (Sept. 18 -25, 2010) - Six day expedition race in the Mojave Desert outside Las Vegas California.
